SinIRC FAQ
- Why don't you use (insert IRCd)?
- Because we use Nefarious IRCu. If you don't like it, eat shit.
- Where is NickServ?
- SinIRC does not have nick ownership, so we have AuthServ. We don't believe nick stealing to become a problem.
- Why doesn't SinIRC have +qa? (~&)
- Our IRCd, Nefarious IRCu, does not support +qa (~&). However we do have +ohv (@%+) and ChanServ has protection settings to prevent channel takeovers and protect users with higher access levels.
- Using +h breaks P10 as is, it's enabled for users.
- /cs help set protect
- How do I get a vhost?
- I see users with extra lines in their whois, what is this and how can I get one?
- That is called an epithet. Currently we only give those to users who have been on SinIRC for a long period of time.
- If you believe you've been around lone enough for one, ask in #help.
- I've been banned from the network, (how can I get unbanned| how long does it last)?
- E-mail abuse@sinirc.net with the reason you are banned (generally stated in the notice) and why we should remove the ban.
- Wait for the ban to expire.
- See the ban check tool to see how long it lasts.
- (I am|My channel is) being abused by a member of the network staff, and they won't stop!
- E-mail admin@sinirc.net with the nick of the staff member that is abusing you or your channel. Abuse happens on IRC. SinIRC's policy is if it happens, stop if asked.
